Experience:

  1. Taught Hindi, Commerce, Entrepreneurship Development, Office Automation, Shorthand, and Typing at Government Rural Polytechnic from 1987 to 2004.
  2. Served as a resource person in gender workshops organized by Mahila Samakhya in Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi.
  3. Worked as chief resource person in literacy campaigns under the District Literacy Committee, Almora.
  4. Participated as a resource person in children’s science fairs/workshops organized by institutions like National Book Trust, Plan India, Mahila Samakhya, Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Room to Read, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan, Shri Bhuvneshwari Mahila Ashram, Mount Valley Tehri, and other government/non-government organizations.
  5. Participated in street plays and led a state-level troupe under the “Sakshar Bharat” program by Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti.
  6. Recited poetry in literary gatherings held in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Udaipur, Jaipur, Bhilwara, Bhagalpur, Moradabad, Gorakhpur, Hisar, Dehradun, etc.
  7. Organized children’s workshops with public support.
  8. Made efforts to connect children with regional languages such as Kumaoni, Garhwali, Bhojpuri, and Mewari.
  9. Received training in writing workshops at State Resource Centres in Lucknow and Dehradun.
  10. Participated in national and international seminars organized by the All India People’s Science Network.
  11. Since 2006, organizing annual national seminars on children’s literature in Uttarakhand during June; also participated in national and international seminars on children’s literature.
  12. Through Bal Prahari, organized seminars on children’s literature at places like U.P. Hindi Sansthan Lucknow, Garhwal Bhawan Delhi, Moradabad, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Bhilwara (Rajasthan), Bhagalpur (Bihar), etc.
  13. Regular columnist in Hindi weekly Hindi Shakti and Kumaoni weekly Kurmanchal Akhbar for promotion and preservation of Kumaoni culture and language.
  14. Worked towards preservation of Kumaoni culture through plays supported by the Information Department, Health Department, and District Literacy Committee.
  15. Published 9 books including the children’s poetry collection “Meethe Jamun”.
  16. Works broadcast on All India Radio and Doordarshan.
  17. Honored at Rashtrapati Bhavan for children’s literature and awarded by around three dozen institutions at the national level.

National Seminar

Bal Prahari and Bal Sahitya Sansthan organize a National Seminar on children’s literature every year in the month of June in Uttarakhand with public support. Participation in this seminar is open to all. Interested writers are required to send their written consent by 15th April. Details of the seminars held in previous years are as follows:
